The client* approached me to create a brand for a startup music festival, featuring piano music from all genres.  The festival was going to be located at the 'Gull Wing Pavilion' in Red Deer, Alberta Canada - a new half bowl pavilion outdoor theatre being built for the spring of 2022, having a design inspired by the Sydney Opera House's soaring imagery.
The project involved creating an Event Identity, brand colours, fonts, poster, event tri-fold brochure, site map booklet, and merchandise designs. The client wanted the Identity to have the feel of soaring piano music, with a light and airy feel, reflecting the music and the venue. They wanted the event brand to feel elegant and clean but with a lean towards fun and casual. 
After doing a lot of research into music festivals and some of the best piano artists alive today, I compiled the information I needed. Then I created several sketches for the client to view and approve, and we moved forward with the brand and design.
I chose piano keys, birds and music notes in various configurations and layouts to represent the brand feel. The colour palette is light and bright, with the main green, black & white chosen for contrast, and the darker green, gold and orange included for the site map and merchandise to create pops of colour, interest and continue the feel. The fonts were chosen because of their clean, bold  and sophisticated feel and legibility.
*This Music Festival concept, branding and design items were created for a Project in my Graphic Design Technology college diploma.
